We got to Highlands, NC yesterday around 5. The drive up was beautiful! We checked in and immediately filled up our jacuzzi tub for a very relaxing evening. We got out to grab some dinner and soon realized that we were definitely in a small town during the slow season! None of the restaurants were open except the subway. So we decided to drive to Cashiers, NC. Mind you we did not have a map we just saw a sign(with no mileage listed). The drive was amazing! There were some stunning overlooks(i will post pictures when we get back). As we pulled into Cashiers it was also a little quiet, but we found a great bbq place. It was just a little hole in the wall but it was great! On our way back we stopped at some of the overlooks and took some pictures at sunset. The weather is beautiful so far today, we haven't ventured out just yet(Bryan woke up at 11:15), but we are planning to hike to some waterfalls and explore dowtown highlands.
